Data Broker Removal

People-search sites compile your address, phone number, relatives, and history into profiles anyone can look up. We help you find those listings and request their removal.

What data brokers are

Data brokers are companies that collect personal information from public records, purchases, apps, and other sources, then sell or publish it. People-search websites are the most visible kind: type in a name and they show a profile.

These listings commonly include:

  • Current and past home addresses
  • Phone numbers and email addresses
  • Age and date of birth
  • Names of relatives and associates
  • Former names
  • Property and court record summaries

For newly married couples, people who have moved, or anyone with safety concerns, these profiles can expose more than you'd expect.

How we help

  1. Search for your listings

Using the details you provide, such as your name, city, and past cities, we search people-search and data broker sites for profiles that appear to match you.

  2. Confirm what's yours

We show you what we found so you can confirm which listings are actually about you.

  3. Submit opt-out requests

We prepare and submit the opt-out or deletion requests each site offers. Some sites require you to confirm by email or phone yourself. When that happens, we tell you exactly what to do.

  4. Check back

Listings can take weeks to come down, and some reappear when brokers refresh their data. We explain how to check for reappearing listings and when it makes sense to repeat requests.

What we'll need from you

To find and remove listings, we generally need the same basic details the listings themselves show, such as your name, the cities you've lived in, and sometimes a current email or phone number for confirmations. We ask only for what a given request actually requires, and we explain why before asking.

We don't collect identity documents or Social Security numbers through our website. If a particular site insists on extra verification, we'll explain the options and let you decide whether to proceed with that site.
