Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what we do, what we can't do, and how we handle your information.

Results and expectations

Can you remove everything about me from the internet?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who says they can. Each website, platform, search engine, and data broker decides for itself whether to remove content, based on its policies and the law that applies. We help you use the options that exist and tell you honestly when something likely can't be removed.

What decides whether something gets removed?

Mainly three things: the policies of the site hosting the content, the laws that apply to it and to you (which vary by location), and the specifics of your situation, such as who posted the content and what it contains.

How long does it take?

It varies. Deleting your own social media content can be immediate. Data broker opt-outs often take days to several weeks. Search engine and website requests depend entirely on how quickly the company reviews them, and some never respond. We'll keep you updated on what we know.

Can removed information come back?

Yes. Data brokers in particular may re-list information when they refresh their records, and copies of content can exist elsewhere. We explain how to keep an eye on this.

Privacy and security

Do you need my social media passwords?

Never. We will never ask for your passwords or login details for any account. If you get a message claiming to be from QuietProfile that asks for a password, don't respond to it. When something must be done inside one of your accounts, you do it yourself while we guide you.

What information do you collect?

Only what's needed. To start, that's your name, email, and a short description of what you need. Later, specific tasks may need specific details. For example, a data broker search needs the cities you've lived in. We explain why before we ask. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Should I send ID documents or my Social Security number?

No. Please don't send identity documents, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or passwords through our website or by email. If a specific site requires extra verification, we'll explain the options and you can decide whether to proceed.

Do you sell my information?

No. We don't sell your personal information.

About the service

Are you affiliated with Google, Facebook, or any data broker?

No. QuietProfile is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any social media platform, search engine, or data broker, and we have no special access to them. We use the same public processes available to everyone; we just know how to navigate them.

Couldn't I do this myself?

Often, yes. Most removal processes are public. What we offer is the time, research, and know-how to find what's out there, identify which processes apply, and handle the paperwork. Our privacy guidance is also designed to help you manage things yourself going forward.

Is this legal advice?

No. QuietProfile does not provide legal advice. If your situation involves defamation, threats, or a legal dispute, we'll suggest you speak with a qualified attorney.

How much does it cost?

Pricing hasn't been published yet. We'll always confirm the price and scope in writing before you agree to any work. Contact us to ask about your situation.
